About NFC cards
What is an NFC card?
It’s a business-card-sized card (85 × 55 mm) with a small NFC chip inside. NFC is the same technology phones use for contactless payments. When someone taps the card with their phone, it opens the link stored on the chip – for example your Google review page, Instagram profile or website.
How do I use it?
Unlock your phone and hold it close to the card. On an iPhone, touch the card near the top edge of the phone; on most Android phones, touch it near the middle of the back. A notification or the page itself opens within a second or two.
Which phones work with NFC cards?
iPhones from the iPhone XS onwards read NFC cards automatically. Most Android phones have NFC too – it may need switching on in the phone’s settings.
Do customers need to download an app?
No. The card opens a normal web link, so nothing needs to be installed.
What if someone’s phone doesn’t have NFC?
We can print a QR code on the back of your card, so anyone can scan it with their camera instead.
Does the card need charging or batteries?
No. The chip has no battery – it’s powered by the phone for the moment it’s tapped.
Does the card store personal data?
No. It only stores the web link you give us, such as your review page or profile address.
Design and ordering
Can I use my own logo and brand colours?
Yes. Our team designs every card from scratch for your business – front and back – using your logo, colours and wording.
Will I see the design before it’s printed?
Yes. We send you a digital proof to check. Please check spelling, contact details and links carefully, because we print exactly what you approve.
How long does it take?
We print, program and test your cards within 3 working days of you approving the proof. Delivery time is then added on top – see below.
Is there a subscription or monthly fee?
No. You pay once for each card and there are no ongoing costs.
Can I order cards for my whole team or several locations?
Yes. Contact us with the number of cards and links you need and we’ll arrange it.
Which card should I choose?
Choose a review card to collect reviews, a social card to gain followers, or a personal card to share your WhatsApp, Linktree or website. Our NFC business cards guide compares them.
Delivery and payment
Do you deliver to Ireland and Europe?
Yes. UK delivery costs from £2.99 (2–3 working days) and Ireland and Europe from £5.99 (3–5 working days), with tracked options. See delivery prices and times.
Will I pay VAT or customs fees in the EU?
We don’t charge EU VAT at checkout. Because orders are posted from the UK, your local post service or customs may ask you to pay import VAT and a small handling fee before delivery.
Which currency do you charge in?
All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). If you pay with a card in another currency, your bank converts the amount.
Returns and faulty cards
Can I return a card?
Because every card is made for your business, we can’t accept returns once production has started. See our Refunds & Returns Policy.
My card arrived damaged or doesn’t work. What should I do?
Email info@xtapconnect.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery with a photo or short video, and we’ll put it right.
The card isn’t opening on a phone. Is it broken?
Usually not. Check the phone is unlocked and that NFC is switched on (on Android), remove thick or metal phone cases, and try tapping a slightly different spot. If it still doesn’t open, contact us.
